  • DAILY DIET TIPS:*

    1. FEEL THE BURN:  A little burn is a good indicator you're doing something right in the gym. The "burn" you feel in your muscles is produced by a buildup of lactic acid, a byproduct of metabolizing glucose for energy and a waste product that causes a burning sensation. The sensation is usually felt during intense, long sets while weightlifting or as a stiffness that appears towards the end of a tough aerobic workout. It also contributes to the muscle soreness you feel days after a new or harder workout. So don't stop when you feel the burn; stop when you can't do any more sets.

    2. DRIVE-THRU DIRECTIONS:  Healthy fast food choices. Before you order a burger, fries and soda, explore the healthier options available. Dining at a fast food restaurant doesn't have to derail your diet efforts. There are plenty of choices that can fit your healthy meal plan. Enjoy a plain grilled chicken sandwich, broiled fish, a plain baked potato, fresh vegetables or a side salad. Substitute a soda for water or unsweetened iced tea. Bypass anything fried, breaded or prepared with cream-based sauces.

I'm still alive and kickin! LOL Sorry for the lack of updates, but my mornings seem to consist of errand running or gym sessions, since both kids are in school for 2 1/2 in the morning. Gotta make the most of my kidless time right? The days just seem to get away from me before I can post, so I'll try to do better ok? I miss you girlies!

I'm still at 122.8 lbs. but considering I had a homemade stew binge full of salt, I'll take it. My newest plan of action is to go to the gym every chance I get in the morning, to at least burn off what I eat for breakfast, and to keep my intake at 1400 as much as possible. I miss the teens, and I want them BACK! It will happen with determination and persistence. It always does!

Tonight I'm going over to my friend's house to hang, eat a light supper and watch reality TV. Should be a nice relaxing time, considering it's going to rain all day. Awwwwwhh, some nice girlie time!

My face is finally clearing up, and I hope it stays that way. Hopefully I'll get the full benefits of "The Pill" soon. One bonus?? I got my size C boobs back! WOOT! Loving my curves!

    DAILY BIBLE DEVOTION:*

    Psalm 121:1-2
I will life up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Sonya was just about to dip into the ice cream when her doorbell rang. Guiltily, she threw the container into the freezer and slammed the door. Rushing to the hallway, she opened the door and found her sister standing there. Time after time, her sister showed up when she was most needed. Sonya couldn't believe the number of times her sister had been there to help her resist temptation. Sonya felt God was really watching out for her. Whenever her own strength gave out, God sent someone along who could strengthen her. Relieved, she let her sister in and told her the service she had just performed.

Today's thought: Strength comes from unexpected places when our own gives out!

  • DAILY DIET TIPS:*

    1. HEALTHIEST RATE TO LOSE WEIGHT:  Focus on losing one to two pounds per week. Slow and steady wins the race. Studies show that people who lose at a slower pace are more likely to keep off the weight. The National Institute of Health recommends dropping one to two pounds a week for safe, effective weight loss. Two pounds a week may not sound like much, but it adds up fast. Over a one-year period, that's 52 pounds.

    2. SMALL STEPS TO SLIMVILLE:  Set small goals. Rome wasn't built in a day and there's no way you're going to conquer your weight issues overnight. Have patience. Instead of concentrating on the bottom line, think in five or ten pound increments. You'll be less likely to get discouraged when you're in it for the long haul. As you ne achieve goal, reward yourself and keep track of the milestones you've already hit.

I'm alive! I'm beyond sorry for not posting for over a week. I've missed you girlies! Things have just been so busy lately with both kids in school, cleaning, visiting my friend that is recovering from her surgery, inlaws staying with us, etc. PHEW! I can breathe now! LOL

Weight wise, I am in my monthly cycle and weigh 122.8 lbs. Not so good. BUT at my highest I was a whopping 125.8 lbs.! Can you believe it? The pill is definitely increasing my appetite, but I'm determined to fight the OVEReating and to keep up with my fitness. I've been to the gym twice this week and plan on going again on Sunday. I want my teens back sooooo badly, because I just feel more comfortable there. 117 lbs. here I come, once again! LOL

My friend's surgery went smoothly, and it wasn't quite as bad as they expected. BUT she will be put on early menopause hormones, up until she would decide she would like to try to become pregnant. Even then, her chances would be 40%. Poor thing. She loves kids, and this is difficult for her. She's only 35. Please continue to pray for her recovery and her ongoing struggles.

I got the kids' halloween costumes yesterday! They are going to be so adorable! Here are pictures of them:

    pink bunny scooby doo

The inlaws are coming to stay with us starting today through Sunday, so it's cleaning galore time today. It never ends! UGH! Oh well, those are calories burned right? LOL

    DAILY BIBLE DEVOTION:*

    John 16:33
'These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.'

Leo wanted to remember how tough it was. He'd lost the weight, but he never wanted to get back into the poor shape he'd recently been in. It would be way too easy to fall back into bad habits, thinking that the battle was won once for all time. It was nice to have succeeded. But Leo planned to make sure his success lasted a good, long time. It is nice to overcome obesity, but it is an ongoing battle. We should ally ourselves with the one true conqueror: Jesus Christ. With Christ's help, we can continue to triumph over our weight problems. He grants not only peace, but power to overcome any obstacle.

Today's thought: If we empty our plate, we won't lose our weight!

  • DAILY DIET TIPS:*

    1. FEELING FLEXIBLE - WORK IT OUT:  Along with muscle strength and endurance, flexibility is on the top of the list when evaluating your fitness level. Flexibility is a joint's ability to move through a full range of motion. Without flexibility, you'd be missing an important part of overall health. Stretching before and after every workout is the best way to increase flexibility. Along with improved performance, posture and lower risk of injury, flexibility also aids in balance and coordination.

    2. PREVENT OVERTRAINING:  While exercising is beneficial, there are times when too much of it can be harmful. Going from not exercising at all to exercising every single day, for example, can lead to overtraining your body. When exercising becomes an obsession and starts causing trouble in other areas of your life, you may need to take a pause from the gym and become aware of how you're truly feeling both physically and mentally. Some symptoms of overtraining include fatigue, depression, sleep disturbances, and frequent bacterial and viral infections. One way to prevent overtraining is by keeping careful daily records of your sleep quality, fatigue and stress levels.

122 lbs. flat today. That's 1.6 lbs. down. WOOT! 117, here I come again! I'm so sick of being out of my teens. I'm going to eat sensibly today and avoid all cravings. Water and green tea will be my best friends today too. LOL I'm waiting to go to the gym until my face finishes clearing up. I don't want to have makeup mixed with sweat on my pores right now. Make sense? I may do some home exercises today though, so that I at least do SOMETHING though. They don't make me sweat, so I might as well!

Today at 1pm central time, my best friend has her endometriosis surgery. Please pray that everything goes smoothly, and that she has a quick and painless recovery. I may go over to her place on Friday to hang and watch a movie. I promised her I'd paint her toes too. What are friends for?

Not much else is going on today. Just the ever so fun housework that never ends! GRRR!!!

    DAILY BIBLE DEVOTION:*

    James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Sybil couldn't understand why Bev kept praying about her diet. It seemed so silly. Sybil was a good Christian, but she didn't bother talking about such trivial things with God. God had much better things to do than watch people lose weight, didn't He? Still, Bev seemed to be doing much better on her diet than Sybil was. Bev didn't struggle with temptation as much, and she was much better at saying no when she was offered rich, fattening foods. Maybe Bev had something. Her prayers were obviously a help to her, and Sybil had nothing to lose but her weight. Sybil decided to ask Bev for some guidance.

Today's thought: Too much doubt rules weight loss out!
